How to Raise Kids and Chickens: 7 Lessons I Learned as a Farming Dad`

*Intro*

"Running a poultry farm with kids around is not easy. But in the last 3 years of raising broilers and raising my own children, I realized both need the same things. Here are 7 lessons farming taught me about fatherhood."

*The 7 Lessons*

1.  *Lesson 1: Consistency Wins*

Chicks need feeding 2x daily. Kids need attention daily. Skip one day and you see the result.

    2.  *Lesson 2: Protect Them Early*

We vaccinate chicks on day 7. We teach kids good values early too. Prevention is cheaper than cure.

    3.  *Lesson 3: Feed Them Well*

Bad feed = stunted chickens. Bad food/media = stunted kids. Invest in quality.

    4.  *Lesson 4: Give Them Space to Grow*

Overcrowded pens = disease. Overcrowded schedules = stressed kids. Balance.

    5.  *Lesson 5: Watch for Signs*

A sick chick is quiet. A troubled child is quiet too. Pay attention.

    6.  *Lesson 6: Patience Pays*

Broilers take 6 weeks. Raising kids takes 18 years. No shortcuts.

    7.  *Lesson 7: Harvest Will Come*

All the stress of farming pays when you sell. All the stress of parenting pays when they succeed.
