How Much To Start 100 Broilers In Benin City In 2026? My Real Cost Breakdown.

 If you dey for Benin and you wan start 100 broilers this November, how much you go really need? I go tell you my own real cost, not theory.

Many people dey ask me for Instagram and for farm. So I decide to break everything down as e be today for Benin City.

1. Day-Old Chicks - JForce

I dey use JForce Agritech broiler. For last week for Sapele Road, one chick na around ₦2,100 


For 100 chicks: ₦210,000





Tip: Buy extra 5 chicks. Some fit die for first week.

2. Feed - This Na The Biggest Money

This na where most people fail. You need about 6-7 bags for 100 birds to reach 2.5kg in 6 weeks.

As at today for my feed supplier for Benin:

Ultima Plus (Super Starter/Finisher): ₦22,500 per bag. 

Ordinary Ultima: ₦19,500 per bag. 

My own method: I use 2 bags Ultima Plus for starter (first 3 weeks) and 4 bags ordinary Ultima for finisher.

Calculation:

2 bags x ₦22,500 = ₦45,000

4 bags x ₦19,500 = ₦78,000

Total Feed = ₦123,000

3. Drugs, Vaccines & Vitamins. 

For 100 birds, you need glucose, multivitamin, coccidiosis drugs, antibiotics. Budget *₦15,000 - ₦20,000*. I spend ₦18,000 last batch.

4. Charcoal, Sawdust & Other Small Things. 

Heating for first 2 weeks, drinkers, litter. *₦12,000

MY TOTAL FOR 100 BROILERS IN BENIN (OCTOBER 2026)*

Item Cost

100 JForce Chicks ₦210,000

6 Bags Feed (Ultima) ₦123,000

Drugs & Vitamins ₦18,000

Charcoal & Sawdust ₦12,000

**TOTAL** **₦363,000**

So with *₦370,000* you fit comfortably start 100 broilers for Benin City today.

If you sell at ₦7,000 - ₦7,500 each for Christmas rush (because you buy chick expensive), na *₦700k - ₦750k*. Your profit fit still be around *₦330k - ₦380k* after everything."

*My Advice For Beginners:*

Don't start with 100 if na your first time. Start with 50. Use the same formula divide by 2.

And please, no use cheap feed because you wan save ₦3,000. Na your birds go pay for am.

How I Reduced Mortality to 2% in Broilers

*Body:* I used to lose 50-80 birds every batch. Heartbreaking.  Last 3 batches? I lost only 10 out of 500. That's 2% mortality. Here's exactly what changed: *1. Biosecurity - Day 1* I disinfect the pen 3 days before chicks arrive. Foot dip with Izal at entrance. No visitors. *Result*: No disease coming in. *2. Water Management* Clean water 2x daily.
